How to clean coffee out of your carpet - a step by step guide

When you have gathered all the items, you would need to start cleaning the carpet to remove the caffeine stains.

Make sure that you clean the stain as soon as possible or else it would leave a nasty mark.

1.   Blot the coffee stain with paper towels

Take the paper towel or white cloth and lightly blot the coffee stain. With this technique, the coffee stains will not spread off further.

Instead of rubbing or scrubbing, blotting can help with controlling the spill and the stain colour.

After you have thoroughly blotted the stain, you can pour some cold water over it. This would dilute the stain’s mark. You can then start blotting again.

2.    Apply some stain remover to the coffee stain on the carpet

After the coffee stain has been diluted and patted down, take another clean cloth and apply some stain remover.

Start patting the cloth on the coffee stain with the same technique as above.

The coffee stain would start to fade and you can use a dry towel to make sure that no residue is left behind.

3.   Wash and dry the carpet to make sure the coffee stain and stain remover has gone from the carpet

To remove the stain remover chemicals, you now should wash the cloth with some cold water.

Make sure that the coffee stain is thoroughly cleaned.

Do not forget to blot the stain.

Once you have washed the coffee stain on the carpet with cold water and blotted it, you can now leave it to dry.

Do not rub the carpet - nor use a dryer. Let it dry naturally.
