Decaf Coffee Cupping Notes

This decaffeinated coffee is named after the Sidamo province of Southern Ethiopia, the province is famous for the fertile highlands south of Lake Awasa and, of course, for its coffee plantations. With only one harvest late in the year in Ethiopia, the birthplace of coffee, this decaf coffee is fully washed and the result is smallish Arabica beans bursting with flavour.

Decaffeinated Ethiopia Sidamo coffee is renowned for its bright lemon and citrus notes first and foremost, but expect a honeysuckle aroma and a delicate finish with hints of green tea.

Our decaf Ethiopia Sidamo coffee is decaffeinated using the Swiss Water Decaf method, developed by the Swiss Water Decaffeinated Coffee Company. The process sees green beans being washed and soaked in hot water to release 99.9% of the caffeine in the beans.

Arabica Coffee Variety: Heirloom

Customer photo review of Ethiopia Sidamo Decaffeinated Coffee - Swiss Water Decaf Process - Strength 3 - Decadent Decaf

This coffee is simply wonderful, the best decaffeinated coffee ever. We love coffee but wanted to move to decaffeinated coffee and had been put off by the bland coffee served in most cafe's. So we went online and did our research and started test decaffeinated coffees. Most suppliers seemed to offer, at most, a couple of origin options, but there were many from Decadent. We also liked that theye were using the swiss water decaff process and not using chemicals. We tested and tasted them all and, for us fell in love with Ethiopia Sidamo Decaffeinated Coffee, It's has a really beautiful aroma, great taste that lingers and deveelops in the mouth. We have it on subscription, it's a really great decaff coffee.

Something happened to the quality of the beans. I've been ordering the same Ethiopia on-and-off for a few years now. Back in 2020 or so this was really good. But over time something kept changing and what was initially a very flavourful decaf became rather bland. Even my wife noticed the change. I'm going to stop ordering from your shop, unless you can get the quality back where it was before. Don't think this is a fluke, we observed the gradual change for the worse over long time.

This is a really smooth coffee but, sadly for me, I need to have a slightly higher number as I find this Ethiopia not quite strong enough. I use beans and grind them but more coffee isn't the answer, it's the flavour. So I shall look through the coffees and choose one a little stronger. I know it will be a nice smooth drink but I need to experiment - this should be quite a nice thing to do. In spite of my experience I would recommend Decadent. Arrived soon and well packed.

I was at Tamra yes to this coffee by name as I had lived in Ethiopia in the mid-1950’s. The caffeinated version I bought from Elsewhere’s was delicious. I prefer decaf so came across this brand. I was substantially encouraged by the notion of the Swiss waterless decaffeination method. Tip-top ordering process, quick and easy delivery, and the coffee didn’t disappoint. On the contrary, a rich, smooth coffee with depth of flavour and no bitterness. I love the aftertaste. This is the most delicious coffee I have had ever. I’ll be back for more and recommend it too! Thanx
